South Carolina Gov. Mark Sanford plans to promote an agenda for the year that includes:
- Strengthening the state's drunken driving laws
- Helping parents send children to private schools
- Boosting land conservation with a one-time, $50 million increase
- Curtailing illegal immigration
- Increasing state cigarette tax and using the revenue to cut income taxes
- Giving high school students who graduate early up to $2,000 each
- Restructuring government, chiefly eliminating the Budget and Control Board
- Capping government spending
- Severely limiting the use of one-time money for programs that need funding every year
To provide information on issues affecting the Rock Hill School District and an opportunity for feedback and sharing of ideas. Comments are not official communications of the Rock Hill Schools or District Trustees. "Real student engagement is not about keeping students happy, boosting their self-esteem, or convincing them that what they are learning is relevant; it is about acquiring new knowledge and skills and pursuing the activities that contribute to that attainment."
