Tribute to Mr. Larry Wells on May 7th #rockhill #rockhillschools

The Northwestern High School Spring Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, May 7^th at 7:30 pm in the Northwestern High School Auditorium.  The concert will feature the 9^th Grade Band, the Concert Band and the Symphonic Band as well as several small ensembles.  The Symphonic Band will also premiere a composition by South Carolina composer Jay Bocook who was commissioned to write the work in honor of the former Director of Bands at Northwestern, Mr. Larry Wells.  Mr. Wells taught in the public schools for 43 years and has touched thousands of lives through music and his teaching.  The commission was sponsored by a consortium of college and high school bands and directors from across York County, North and South Carolina, as well as alumni of Olympic High School and Northwestern High School Bands and friends of Mr. Wells and his wife Ember.  Admission is free and open to the public.
