Ten Districts Slated to Receive 1-to-1 Support

Project RED, which aims to provide research and support around technology-infused education and 1-to-1 learning environments, has announced its first ten "signature districts." The nonprofit research group, which includes ed-tech heavy-hitters such as Thomas Greaves from The Greaves Group, and Leslie Wilson from the One-to-One Institute, plan to provide guidance for signature districts, as well as opportunities for those districts to collaborate and learn from each other.

Project RED will align each of the chosen districts' technology implementation plan to the nine key factors to successful technology implementation, as well as provide a timeline for implementation and other resources to help the districts create a successful 1-to-1 learning environment. Findings from participating districts will be shared with other signature districts for three years.

The ten signature districts are:

• East Noble School Corporation, IN


• Ferndale School District, WA


• Kuna School District, ID


• Natick Public Schools, MA


• Owensboro Public Schools, KY


• Reeds Springs, MO


• Richland School District Two, SC


• Salisbury Township Schools, PA


• Southern Lehigh, PA


• Sunnyside School District, AZ

Districts were chosen through a competitive application process. "These ten signature districts have made a definitive commitment to improve student learning and provide personalized instruction through a meaningful integration of technology, ongoing professional development and administrator support," Wilson said in a press release.

Project Red says it is looking for a total of 20 signature districts, and it is still accepting applications for the remaining ten spots. Read the eligibility and selection criteria to find out if it's something your district might be interested in.
