Rock Hill Schools Administration Cost

Representative Ralph Norman made several information requests to the Rock Hill School District which were answered this week. Two interesting findings were; District Office Administration costs are currently $4.1 million; and School Administration costs are currently $6.4 million. District consulting costs are somewhat difficult to pin down because often times they are paid for with federal dollars which require them to be spent for things such as professional development.

District salaries have never been hidden. You can find salary scales by clicking on one of the links below:

According to the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001, students receiving free or reduced
lunch who attend Title I schools that have not made adequate yearly progress (AYP) for
three consecutive years (referred to as schools in continuing school improvement,
corrective action, planning to restructure, or restructuring) must be offered the
opportunity to receive supplemental educational services (SES). This is a required set-aside in our Title I application as required by law. For our District, the eligible students at Northside, Independence, and Sunset Park are offered SES. Our set-aside amount for this year as a District was $194,710.00.

SES Providers are approved by the South Carolina State Department of Education. Parents are allowed to choose a provider from the approved list. Please note that these are the providers that have
been selected by the state for Rock Hill Schools for the 2009-2010 school year and are
approved to provide services up to $1,283.00 per child (for those eligible at the three schools).
