<The Applied Technology Center will host "Soothing Saturday" on Dec. 8 from
8:30-4:00. Haircuts, facials, manicures, scalp treatments, bakery items,
t-shirts, and stationery, etc., will be available at miniscule prices. One
can get a haircut, for example, for $4.50 and $7.00 for a cut and set!
< Bands at Northwestern will present their Christmas Concert at 7:30 p.m.
Tues., Dec. 11, in the school auditorium. In lieu of admission, the band
would appreciate a donation to the Empty Stocking Fund.
<Kindergarten classes at Ebinport will be featured in "A Gingerbread
Christmas" at 7:00 p.m. Dec. 18 in the school cafeteria. The show will be
directed by Lucille Harper.
<The Elementary Honors Choir will present its Winter Concert on Sun., Dec.
16, at 3:00 at Oakland Baptist Church. Admission will be free. The choir is
made up of 58 4th and 5th grade students chosen from the district's 16
elementary schools. Music teachers Becky Staton, from York Road, serves as
director and Gwen Colter, from Independence, is associate director and
accompanist.
<At 7:00 p.m. on Thurs., Dec. 13, in the school auditorium, the South Pointe
Music Dept. will hold its first annual "A Time for HOPE" Benefit Concert.
The school's band, orchestra, and chorus will collaborate to bring the
audience sounds of the season while collecting canned food for local charity
HOPE (Helping Other People Effectively). Admission to the concert will be
one can of food per person.
<Hats off to Northwestern teacher, Robert Lineberger, who recently placed
fourth in ten shot groups at 100 yards at the Cast Bullet National
Tournament in Manassas, VA. Robbie shoots with bullets he makes!
Vendor Day at Ebinport Elementary
The school's PTO has planned this event for this Saturday, Dec. 8, from
9:00-2:00 in the school cafeteria. Over 15 vendors have already signed up to
have their items available for purchase.
