This is not an interesting slant at all. It is insulting to teachers and shows ignorance of what is going on in many schools, Rock Hill included, by some so-called expert who is undermining schools with half baked and apparently narrowly researched ideas. Teachers obviously know how to improve and are doing so. Thanks for linking to it, as it shows that we must pay attention to our own schools, which are doing well, and not to the innuendo put out by these education policy wonks.

Thank you for considering me an expert wonk. I appreciate your kind words.

I must point out, however, that I advocated no position in the piece. Rather, I threw out some food for thought. Many of my musings are influenced heavily by my teaching experiences.
