Ron Berger brought his message of project based learning to the Rock Hill School District on Friday. He closed with the video below which was the result of a project by a second grade class to improve the awareness of snakes - not an easy task. It would be great for students with IPADS in Rock Hill to watch the video, but youtube is still blocked.

The 2nd grade class at Conservatory Lab Charter School wrote and performed this parody to share what they had learned about snakes through their learning expedition. The song's goal is to educate and present the idea that the general public reaction to a specific order of animals might actually be irrational. Driving people to not dismiss their first conceptions about something they're not familiar with as instantly justified and encourage learning. It's not so much about making people love snakes as encouraging people to educate themselves and get to develop better-informed conclusions and opinions on them.
