Jeff Venables - Rock Hill School District Teacher of The Year

Dr. Jeff Venables, Northwestern High School Chemistry Teacher was named the Rock Hill School District Teacher of the year Thursday night at the District's Teacher of the Year Banquet. This makes three of the last 4 years that Northwestern High School has had  someone as the District Teacher of The  Year. The previous two went on to become South Carolina Teachers of the Year. Dr. Venables gets a cash prize and the use of a new Honda for a year.

Also recognized were Mount Holly Elementary Teacher Jenny Newstead and York Road Elementary Teacher Shemia Thompson as finalist for the award. Ashley Whisonant a teacher a Central Child Development Center was recognized as the primary beginning teacher of the year and Tiffany Dagenhart, a social studies teacher at South Pointe High School was named the secondary beginning teacher of the year.
